Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)

If you are flying, make sure to fly into the RDU airport. It is about 20 minutes from the wedding activities. 

Transportation

RDU is a 20 minute Uber ride from downtown Raleigh. If you rent a car, there is a quick Shuttle ride from airport to the rental car facility. Ubers are quick and convenient in Raleigh if you do not rent a car!

Parking Info

Friday Night: Paid street parking is available along Glenwood Ave and side streets, and a pay-to-park garage located off of Tucker St.

Saturday: A public parking lot is available for the Merrimon-Wynne House. The parking lot is located on Polk Street (directly across the street from Merrimon Wynne). The following are driving directions:

- Traveling down Blount Street from Peace Street, you will pass The Merrimon-Wynne House on your left. Take an immediately left on Polk Street and the parking lot will be located on your right between Blount and Person Street.

- Traveling down Person Street from Downtown Raleigh, you will turn left on Polk Street and the parking lot entrance will be on your left, just past The Burning Coal Theater.

O-Ku

Best sushi in Raleigh! A favorite location for Abby and Danny. We recommend the Otoro spoons and the Usuzukuri! Try these with the Sugar & Spice cocktail (Abby's go to). Reservation Recommended.

Hako Sushi | Japanese Restaurant

More Sushi. This place is take out only now but has the some of the best fatty tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. 

Sullivan's Steakhouse

Steak and Wine! Abby's order: Wagyu bone-in strip. Danny's order: Bone-in Ribeye Cowboy Cut. Reservation Recommended. Conveniently located next door to Friday Night Welcome Happy Hour venue. 

Oak Steakhouse

Another great steak option. Get the bone marrow. Reservation Recommended.

Angus Barn Steakhouse

A Raleigh staple and fun atmosphere. Split a giant Bone-In Tomohawk (dinosaur sized) with the family. Reservation Recommended.

Gravy Italian-American Kitchen

Italian food in downtown Raleigh. Abby loves the gnocchi! Reservation Recommended.

Barcelona Wine Bar

Mediterranean Tapas. Go for the Wine. Stay for the Jamon & Manchego Croquetas. Reservation Recommended.

St. Roch Fine Oysters + Bar

Oysters and New Orleans style dishes. Pop in for some pre-dinner oysters or late night beignets. Reservation Recommended.

Cortez

Spanish seafood and small plates. Across the street from Friday Night Welcome Happy Hour. Reservation Recommended.

Cristo's Ristorante & Pizzeria

NY style thin crust Pizza. Yes, Abby can eat a whole cheese by herself. It's that good.

Randy's Pizza

By the slice NY style. Great lunch or to-go option

Bida Manda

Laotian Restaurant. One of Abby and Danny's lunch spots. Recommend the summer rolls and Pad Lao (Khua Mee) with pork belly. 

Boulted Bread

Popular Bakery with a line usually out the door. Enjoy the morning country ham and cheese croissant.

Sir Walter Coffee

Enjoy a coffee or two walking distance from hotels and Oakwood Airbnb. Danny says get the Vietnamese Iced Coffee with a cold brew! You'll never sleep again.

Recommended Dining - Durham

M Sushi - Durham

Even though Durham is 30 minutes away from Raleigh - and all of the events are in Raleigh... we had to include our favorite Restaurants in Durham in case anyone wanted to venture out!

M Sushi. Fun Durham spot. Get the lite Omakase and Ishiyaki Bbq for great experience. Reservation Recommended.

M Tempura

Japanese tempura with the same owner as M Sushi. Recommend omakase here too! Reservation Recommended - sit at the bar.

Mother & Sons Trattoria - Durham

Italian food in Durham. Menu is in Italian - be prepared.  Reservation Recommended.

Things to Do

Umstead State Park

Go for a hike at one of the Umstead trails. This park is located conveniently in Raleigh so it's a close by option to explore the beautiful nature side of Raleigh!

Duke Gardens

Walk through the gardens and check out what's in bloom. Located at Duke University in Durham. 

While you're in Durham you can also check out the American Tobacco Campus and the Durham Bulls Stadium!

Eno River State Park

Another fun park for hiking. Find a spot to jump in the river.

North Carolina Museum of Art

Located inside Morgan Street food hall! 

Cornerstone Tavern

This is a fairly college-y bar. But if you want to dance! This is also located on Glenwood right by the Friday Night Welcome Happy Hour.
